Carmen blogging...

Bonjour, everybody. I'm back again. So I will continue about my Singapore trip. Well, I hang out with my friends the most in Singapore. Priscilla, Amanda, Lynn, Zarrah, Sylvia, Hon Wah, Ben, Karina, Yvonne, Gopal, Fiona, Andrew and especially my dear sister, Alicia. I show you all the photos so can see some stuff I did with them.

This was one of the youth services I attended and I help play the keyboard. It was a lot of fun playing music with them and helping in the worship team. Also in the pic are Alicia, Karina, Celine and Zarry.Me and Prissy. I know it's bright but we looked like we have flawless skin. Pretty. And Prissy tied up my hair.

Carmen blogging...

Hola, again. What a record. I've posted more stuff than I posted in the last 3 to 4 months. I guess I got the blogging bug. May continue for the next few days, hopefully weeks.

Yesterday, was Fathers' Day. Wanna wish my daddy Happy Fathers' Day. Thank you for raising me up to be the person I am today. I love you, Daddy. Didn't manage to post about Mothers' Day, so I wanna give a shoutout to my mom too. I love you, Mommy too. And of course, to my Heavenly Father, the Father of many, thank You for taking care of me and everything, especially for the reason I'm living this life here on earth.

Relaxing holiday

Hey again. Just a short one today. Also just felt like blogging as much as I can. Want to keep on continuing blogging. As I didn't do anything much than resting a lot at home today, I will blog about something else.

Well, it's been almost a month since I came back from my holiday trip in Singapore. I was there for almost 3 weeks. A really good relaxing holiday, meeting all my friends, seeing Alicia etc. Here are some pics about what I did there.

First weekend I was there I joined the Young People Workers Retreat. It was quite good. A lot of emphasis was put on the fact that the children and the youths of our corps in the Salvation Army are important as well as the future of the Army. Yes, this is really true. So, those involve with children and youths do take heart that you are doing something fantastic, touching the lives of the young ones even sometimes it can be tough and tiring. I encourage you to keep going with God's strength in your ministry. I don't have pics from the retreat. Just this game we played.

Then that same weekend, I went for the Territorial Leaders Installation at Central Corps. So nice to be representing my Malaysian friends who could not go for this.

Carmen blogging...

Wow, so long I didn't blog. I guess it's not so 'in' to blog anymore. More people are facebooking and tweeting. Ya, even friendster's kinda outdated. But just to make sure my blog's not so dead. It's alive again.

Uni's starting in 2 and a half weeks time. Oh my. So fast. I kinda dread going back to uni. After a year in uni, I realise I dislike studying just like Alicia. I mean it's not like I hate it but I won't die studying. Can study but don't like. I guess it's because after 1 year in uni I haven't made really close friends. You know, friends that you go out a lot with, hang out with, talk a lot with etc. I haven't really got those kind of friends because of different factors. One, I stay in Penang so I go back every weekend. Two, I just don't make much effort to meet friends. Three, I just don't meet my CF friends, Jazz Band friends, friends from other majors etc. a lot because of our clashing schedules. Well, I think I'm going to try harder to hang out with my friends this coming semester. People said that uni friends are gonna be your friends for a long time, so I gotta try hard.

I went out with Steph on Wed after she just came back from Australia on Saturday. It's been so long since I met her. Great catching up with her. We went to watch the Hannah Montana movie and I love it. Hehe. It had fun songs and quite a good storyline. I'm quite a fan of Miley Cyrus. And GOSH, Lucas Till is so darn cute. SO SO CUTE.

Hi people. Sorry have been really busy, actually no, just plain lazy to blog. Last week was study week and exams started in uni this week but my 1st of 3 papers is just next wednesday. So I have been at home, relaxing. So syiok...

Anyway wanna just blog a bit about what we did for my birthday last month. Just had a nice family dinner actually on the eve of my birthday. Went to eat buffet at the Revolving Restaurant at Bayview Hotel. The floor moves around in a circle so you have a different view from the window at different times. Really nice food. We all ate until we were very full. Just absolutely delicious food.

Carmen blogging...

Wow it's been ages since I blog. Well hello everybody. Hopefully this can be a long post, so I can fill you with everything that has happened here. I had 2 fun events just the past week. First was a music recital by the Jazz Band last Wednesday and the Jazz Band Annual Dinner last Friday. Wow was it lots of fun.

First the music recital. We played at an open, shaded area. It was so hot. Had really supportive friends who came by to watch us play some songs. I really had a lot of fun performing together in the Jazz Band. I managed to take some pictures because I didn't have a part to play for the song, Penasaran, an Indian song. So let the pictures do the talking for me.

Then it was the Jazz Annual Dinner on Friday. We had the dinner at Palace D'India., Queensbay Mall. What a great place for good Indian food. So delicious. I was the emcee with Alex. I was so nervous when Alex said he was so hungry, I told him I was more nervous than hungry. I guess it was just the butterflies in my tummy. Well I had nothing to be nervous about because everything went well. Everyone had a good dinner, good company and lots of fun and laughter especially during the games. What a riot! So... pictures, talk. Ha ha. Thanks to Yng Ling, Janet and KK for taking these pictures.

Carmen blogging...

Hi everybody. Long time no see. Well, it's the moment you've all been waiting for. Remember I said I wanted to change my hairstyle. Well, I did it today and I'm so happy with the results. Now with my new hair, I can actually have more styles done to it.

Before with my short, frizzy and curly hair, all I could do was cut it shorter so it was easier to maintain and not get out of hand. And keep it long to the point I look like a lion when I woke up. I'm not saying I hate my old hair. It definitely made me very unique. Not many people have natural curls. It was also easier for people to remember me. Back then I didn't have the same hairstyle everybody had.

But I wanted a change in my look. For almost 21 years, I had curly hair. Now I have really nice hair. Take a look below for my new hair.

Oh yeah. It wasn't only me who did her hair. Alicia did too! So check out our before and after pictures. Ohhhh. I'm so excited.

happy new 2009 to everyone out there....it's the first day back at school for the school goers....hahaha...candidate andrew have 2 weeks left before he goes back to kuching and off to singapore for SFOT...he has been very useful here in penang....hahaha...hopefully the boys here in penang will learn something good from him....

Christmas.... wow...it was fun for me....hahaha

all the caroling and eating....it was good jolly fun...haha....had three days off work just to enjoy the Christmas period.....will upload the pictures and video when Carmen comes back...she's staying in USM.....the youths did the Christmas play this year...it was funny at times cos we didn't do it traditionally.....we did it the modern day type...like normal clothings and all instead of robes and bare foot...we mix hokkien and malay into the play as well....but not much cos i and Carmen don't understand much...lol.....

had Christmas lunch at the corps....some staff from the home prepared the food with uncle ah lye's fantastic menu....the old boys sponsored the lunch....at night, we had dinner at the home...had a simple one then we karaoke in the tv room...hahaha...so fun.....we had 2 Australian salvationist with us this Christmas....they had fun....one of them said they might come back next year for Christmas....lol

new year is coming....my new year's resolution list ;

wow..it's been a long time since i've blogged....hmmm..let's see what's happening in my life

started working at a photoshop near my place. 5 minutes cycle, 10 minutes walk. lol...that near..haha....the work there is like very slack for most of the days and 1 or 2 days will be busy...i noticed that working in this type of place is like so invading people's privacy...lol...they come and print pictures and we get to know what they been up to....lol...a picture says a thousand words...lol..its true..sometimes i get jealous cos the pictures are their holiday pictures..its good working there..get to see people's holiday pictures, get to know what is out there...we also provide photocopy service, so sometimes people come and photocopy their important document..example like IC, birth cert, marriage cert, police reports, salary slip, upsr/spm/pmr results...lol..we get to see their personal details when its suppose to be private and confidential....

oh ya...our corps just got broke in..they took 2 bass, 1 electric guitar, 2 amps and a projector...i feel very sad cos they took the instruments...they are like pros, kickin their way in. kick down a steel bar window...we took pictures. but will uppload it if carmen approves...lol..dont think she'll let me upload the pics...

my birthday was a blast eventhough i didnt celebrate it with my family members..only carmen tho..we went to chilis for lunch....yummy....and dinner was with my friends at kim gary..thanks eow, and yen...

oooohhh.....i cant wait for christmas.....i also cant wait for caroling to start..i just love goin round sharing my musical talents...lol...

Carmen blogging.

Hello.

My econs paper was so hard. Even with the MCQ it was still hard. Note to self: Must really study. Well I guess that's my problem. I didn't really study. Darn. Well taught me a lesson for not studying.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this but STPM econs is so much easier than my uni introduction to econs paper. Why people say STPM hard? Uni also hard, you know. You have to be on your toes all the time because of assignments, group projects, tests, this and that. I felt STPM wasn't hard for me. It was okay. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be especially when people kept on saying when you go uni, uni would be so much easier than STPM.

Well it's kind of the opposite for me. In uni you have to finish a whole syllabus for a paper in 13 weeks with 1 lecture a week. Back in Form 6, we had 3 to 4 classes per week for 1 paper and 6 to 8 months to finish the syllabus. So uni is actually harder. Of course, I'm more free because it's just one 2 hour lecture and one 1 hour tutorial class per week for 1 paper. Well I should really use all my free time to study so I wouldn't be in this situation.

The thing was with STPM, I couldn't really focus on studying because I had just came back from Singapore for the Heavenly Calling Retreat. And that was for 6 more papers. I didn't really study and I manage to pass my papers, 2 papers better than just borderline pass.
(Advice: Do not ever follow my example of not studying and expect to pass.)

But God is wonderful and I passed my STPM. I got into the best public university in Malaysia as well. He was also with me when I just sat for my econs paper. Even though the paper was hard, I had no idea why I suddenly just smiled during the paper and knew that everything was going to be just fine. God was really with me calming me and assuring me everything will be okay. I thank Him for that. I'm not even worrying as much for my paper as I would have worry a lot if God wasn't with me.

So here I am blogging. Kinda happy. But also kinda feeling a little guilty after doing so badly in my econs paper that I'm feeling happy.

Operation G2R - update

i've finish a leviticus, about to finish numbers...its kinda boring...about moses and israel, how to do sacrifices, law, i found out that their law is very strict..

however, i strongly encourage all young christians to take up this operation g2r...equip yourselves with the knowledge...you'll be able to handle situations better....

other than that, what i've been up to last week...another week at home doin nothing much...calling people about job interviews...checking out about sports science at tar college...

it's funny when angie drinks too much coke...lol..she goes crazy...she's cute...haha....i love my lil sis...she'll grow up bein spoilt....lol..wat to do...we are all so big and she's just four....

it's been long since i've blog....

the Moo's has been in penang for 9 days..i had a blast with them...lol...they stayed in gurney hotel.....everyday swim and eat....it was fun....have been eating a lot....really ALOT...lol...have to go on some kind of diet d...have to exercise d...must do double triple times....

about other things that hav been going on....i think i wont be able to work in spore anymore....for now that is...

maybe will be looking at sports science....

being left out is very painful....im gonna try not to do that to anyone....my own sister....wow...she is so good....when i was in spore...they pick new committee for their youth...now im not on it when i have been helping so much with the setting up for every youth fellowship....

i hav taken up operation G2R....i still hav like almost the whole book to read...

i think the Lord has been good to me...and i thank Him for everything

Hello everybody.

I can't believe that Alicia's leaving Penang to go Singapore to find work. Just the thought of her leaving this Wednesday makes me sad. I don't know but I feel really sad now and I'm so gonna miss her. I won't be able to see her when I go back for the weekend or any other times for that matter because she won't be here in Penang. It's so funny because Alicia practically drives me up the wall. I get so irritated and annoyed by her a lot. I mean we fight a lot. Well, she is really great because she puts up with my temper when I get angry with her. We have a lot of differences but we talk to each other a lot about different stuff. Though there are still secrets that we don't share with each other, we are still there for each other. I hope she will be there for me when I need her.

I'm gonna miss talking to her about everything under the sun.
I'm gonna miss watching football with her.
I'm gonna miss jamming with her in church.
I'm gonna miss her at Youth Group.
I'm gonna miss her company.
I'm gonna miss sharing a room with her.

I'M JUST GONNA MISS ALICIA A LOT.

So everybody in Singapore please take good care of Alicia. Help her out. Make sure she gets a job in Singapore.

Congress in Kuala Lumpur..

Carmen blogging...

I know Congress was so long ago but I just had to just post something about it. I had a great time there though a few of us was so busy doing so many stuff. I was so busy especially for the sessions on Saturday.

Fiona and me did a dramatised Bible reading for the Women's Fellowship in the morning. Then, we had to have quick lunch because there was a full rehearsal for the Celebration that night. After that, we had to quickly get ready to perform our dance for the Old Boys' and Girls' Reunion. Soon, we tried to practice for the Youth session that night. Didn't really practice because I was busy getting the instruments. So hectic doing it, that I made sure I learned from that mistake and next time would not repeat it. Then, had quick dinner so could get ready for Celebration night. After Celebration night, scramble some more to get ready for Youth night. I do wish that we were more prepared though. I learned from that mistake too. Finally it all finished, and the few of us who were involved got to rest.

I love being involved so much though it was hectic running here and there to get stuff done. It was the first time I was so 'hands on' in a Territorial Congress. It was really a pleasure to serve God.

SAY Fired Up! is the name of the youth group of Penang Corps. It was started again in 2007 around the middle of the year. Alex, Sheila and me work together to come up with activities and lesson plans we could use for our youth group. At first, it was just less than 10 of us where Alex and me took turns leading the youth group. After we finish the particular material we were using, we came up with the name before Alex went back home to the US. Good thing Fiona came on board and help me to lead the youth group this year with new material. Now that she's left and Andrew now is here in Penang, I'm hoping Andrew can help us groom up more youth leaders and also form a committee. I hope that SAY Fired Up! will be stronger in our faith together and our bond with each other grow closer and closer.

I think I will use tomato sauce next time instead of chilli sauce... Some of the boys didn't want to do it so we, three girls, me, Fiona and Alicia challenge them that if we did it then they will do it too... We did, and so did they...

First Half of The Year Update...

Hello everybody.

I'm just blogging again now because I have the mood to do it. I have been so lazy to update the blog even though I have quite a lot of free time in university. So, I really want to put up what I have been doing for the past six months first before I let you all know what I have been up to in the pass few weeks.

Well most of you all know that I worked part time as a houseparent starting in February. Working at the home was okay. The children can be quite mischievous and a little naughty but children are like that. I wasn't a perfect, goody-goody child back then either. But I'm not saying I was really naughty. Just that we make all kinds of mistakes because we are not perfect. Besides it's so much harder for the children here, living away from their parents so I had to be more patient with them. It's definitely not easy.

We also had our first youth group (called SAY Fired Up!) fellowship of the year beginning of February after we got back from Singapore. We are using the Youth Alpha material and so far it's been quite good.

After that we went back to my dad's hometown to celebrate Chinese New Year in February. We got to meet Priscilla, which was so cool.

We also had a huge CNY open house at the home 2 weeks after that. A magic show, a cool fireworks display and of course a lot of delicious food. The boys were also given a lot of 'angpows'.

In short the other stuff I did in the past 6 months.
I went for Relay for Life. Had my birthday celebration at the Corps. Celebrated Easter at the Corps. Went to Genting with the Thai students, Fiona and Alicia. Celebrated Mother's Day at the Corps. Activities with the boys. Had crazy, outdoor games with SAY Fired Up!. Had MAPs activities.

70th Anniversary Dinner Celebration

Hello everybody,

I know its been ages since I have posted anything on our blog here. Well, I've been busy with work and for the past 2 months busy with the preparations of our 70th Anniversary Celebration Dinner here in Penang and the 70th Anniversary Congress in Kuala Lumpur (which I will blog about later, if I have the time).

This post will be about the celebrations here in Penang. We were all busy practicing for our performances for the dinner. I danced in our SAY Fired Up! performance with the rest of the youths to the song 'Lord You Are Good'. I don't have any pictures of our dance or a proper video of it yet but when I get it I will post it. Look out for them. Thank you all the youths, Fiona, Alicia, Caleb, Steven, Matthias, Kenny and Scott for practicing hard. In the end our dance came out looking quite good. Thanks to God for such a talented bunch.

I also helped the Sonday S'cool children practice and prepare for their item. They sang 'Jin Jia Ho' in Malay, English and of course, Hokkien. They also sang 'Oh, How I Love You Jesus' with sign language done by the smaller ones. Thank you to all the Sonday S'cool teachers like Aunty Tan, Aunty Jenny, Aunty Maggie and Fiona for helping me with the children. They were quite a handful during practices even at practice a few hours before they were going to perform. Definitely thank you to all the Sonday S'cool children (hope I don't miss out any of them as I list them out), Dennis, Chien Shin, Emmanuel, Nicholas, Fernando, Jia Wei, Thomas, Jacky, William, See Chiean, Ah Chuen, David, Khye Lin, Chiu Peeng, Zher Yang, Joshua, Eng Chai, Raymond, Soon Kean and Fabian. Well, that's all 20 of them.

There were 2 other dances too. One was a taichi fan dance and a hip hop dance (Revolution). The taichi fan dance was cheoreographed by Kenny, one of the boys here in the home. The dance was performed by the boys from the Children's Home, David, Soon Teong, Soon Kean, William, Teik Hong and of course, Kenny and it was done well. This dance added a little Chinese culture thing into the dinner celebration. It's good. Everything was like so modern. The dance added a little spice into the evening. The hip hop dance was also performed by the other boys in the Home, Jack, Jihhan, Dennis and Hong Wei. They did their 'thang' which included 'breaking'. Well you know what I mean. Lol. Sadly, I too don't have any pictures of these 2 dances yet. I will get them soon.

Last but not least is the Perth Fortress Band all the way from Australia. They did an awesome job. We, as in our youth group stood up and gave them a standing ovation after they finished. We were just so grateful to them for coming to Penang and celebrating our 70th Anniversary with us. They worked so hard over the weekend giving performances on Saturday and Sunday and finally the dinner on Monday. They played so well that they made miss me playing the trombone in my former school band. Actually more of playing really good music with a band this size. There were 40 of them.

The band arrived early morning on Saturday at around 12am. They had a little workshop and performance session with St Xavier's School Band in the afternoon. That is Caleb's school, for your information. Then they joined us for dinner at the Home to meet the children. Sadly, I didn't meet them then because Angie was napping upstairs and I babysat her. After that, they performed at New World Park. The band also performed at Gurney Plaza on Sunday afternoon.

The band joined us for Sunday service. It was really fun singing with a big band in our corps. I don't think we will get that often here in Penang. Commissioner David and Grace Bringans and Captain Ian And Isobel Robinson were also here in Penang to celebrate with us. During the service, Commissioner David Bringans handed over brand new flags sewn in Myanmar (if I'm not mistaken) to my dad and mom; Penang Corps flag and Penang Children's Home respectively. 3 new soldiers were enrolled. Sally, one of the band members shared her testimony.

We are back home from our 2 week holiday trip in Singapore. Gosh, it was so fun and relaxing. Really wished we could stay longer. The holiday was like a dream. Well, back to reality now.

I want to say a very big thank you to the Moo family for making our holiday so fun. All the late night talks with Aunty Meng and Uncle Marcus. All the delicious, scrumptious food Aunty Meng fed us till we were all so full. Prissy can vouch for that. The room Matthew let us stay in. Hui Min being such a good girl helping us to do things around the house.

Some news about what happen last december... I know it was like ages ago but I really wanted to blog about it... I was so busy and never got the chance to blog about it...

So after Christmas, I had a Ministering through Adventure Programs (MAPs) retreat... It was also a Camp Counselors Training... It was a lot of fun... Even though the sit in so called lectures made me want to sleep... As I took a 6 month break before to prepare for my STPM/A-level, I didn't know many of the new instructors... Even though it was quite short, 3 days 2 nights, I managed to remember everybody's faces and names... Yeah, me!!... My favourite part of the camp was the pool games and the BBQ night... What I learned at this retreat will definitely help in my service for God in MAPs...

Actually I lost a little interest in serving in this organization (cause of the 6 month hiatus) but I was reminded that this was a form of serving God... I was chosen to serve God in MAPs... Besides MAPs has really break out of my shell... I was shy at first and not being able to speak in front of people... Now I can do all these... My time at MAPs has been great and hopefully it will continue...

it's me again....bloggin..yea....so

k...

on saturday,(12/1/08) we went to sentosa to build sand castle for the first time...Lynn and Min Jie brought us there.......Lynn got the tools to build a sand castle.....we were suppose to meet Lynn and Min Jie at 8am at harbor front but couldnt wake up cos the night before we were busy awake with aunty meng and uncle marcus havin cakes and teh tarik until 3 something in the morning.....we reach harbor front around 9.30am, so we were like 1 and a half hour late......we took the train to sentosa.....we then reach at the beach.....i think it was palawan beach cos they have 3 other beaches there.....they were havin some kind of life saving course so there were some so called life guards with tan, fit bodies...hooooh....wow.....lol...but no cute guys tho... :( anyway..,,we started building sand castle...here are some pictures..

after that we went to central to learn the game for the combine youth thingy cos we are gonna help facilitate the game....at first i had no idea what the game is about..after a while it was ok...its about business thingy.....yea...complicated..but a goood game....went to j8 after that to meet up with prissy's ah yi....prissy went retail therapy....she bought a lot of stuffs just to keep her happy...she's a sick child...poor thing....lol....but she's used to it i guess....okay..it's late a carmen is sleeping already.....

k..i'll blog a bit...we are on holiday in singapore..i and carmen that is.....we flew usin air asia....we took the 12pm plane and reach spore 1.05pm...we took the shuttle from senai airport to the bus terminal near jb immigration to catch another bus to singapore....we had to stop at both immigration to chop passport...then we took the bus to kranji mrt station...we then take the train to ang mo kio station...then we took bus to aunty meng's house..we reached her house around 4.30pm....lol...we took more than 3 hours from senai airport to aunty meng's house...haha...we got our luggage with us so it was harder to travel around.....priscilla was waitin 4 us at aunty meng's house...she said she just came from school....

after that we met lynn at junction 8 aka j8...we then met up with zarrah at popular bookstore cos they wanted to buy something.....we then went to eat at MOS and ate MOS Burger....it was our first time eatin mos burger cos in malaysia doesnt have mos burgers....then we drank milk tea cos pris was like 'i wanna drink milk tea', so i tot it is something special...but..it taste like teh ice....or in penang is called teh peng...

k....im tired typing...i'll blog more tomorrw cos will not be doin anyting cos have to babysit....

Hello everybody. Been so busy with Christmas stuff. I finally found some time to update our blog. The Matthew and Friends event at Uncle and Aunty Tan's was successful. We all ate and ate. Gosh, I'm so fat already. You know la, our culture here. Everything we do, must eat also. What more during the festive season. Well a few more days to stuffing ourselves with more food until Christmas. Then it's exercise time. Well, hope I can stick to exercising cause I'm terrible at dieting. Firstly, the Open to the Call Weekend in Singapore... I know it's been ages since the Weekend but it was a lot of fun. I definitely learned a lot there about officership. I can say this has definitely confirm a lot for me even though I felt God has called me a few years back. I re-commit myself to God every year at every chance I get and I took the chance at this weekend. I even shared my testimony even though I told myself and God that I wouldn't share anymore because every time I shared I cried buckets. I get so emotional every time I share. But God really wanted me to share and I definitely cried. Maybe God wants me to cry buckets so that God can make other people shed tears too. Hahaha. Just joking. Anyway, my late night conversations with Priscilla was fun yet it was useful. It was like God using me and Priscilla to share with each other. Prissy, so fun. We definitely should do it very soon. Got to know Fiona a little bit more. I don't really get to see her here at the Home that often so I got to spend some time with her. Which was good. She also got to see her boyfriend, Andrew. They are so cute together. Such a pity I couldn't stay longer in Singapore. And then I have to return to Penang for exams.

Talking about the exams, it ended on 3rd of December at 5pm. My mini 'Merdeka'. My very own independence day. My freedom from exams (for now). Anyway, it was okay. It was not bad. I just had such a wandering mind that I just couldn't focus on studying. Halfway studying, I would just think of random thoughts. Really random thoughts. Some of the thoughts are just so funny and a little embarrassing, so I would not share them. So, honestly, I did not get much studying done. So, I expect my results to be not that good. I can't expect God to give me straight A's when I didn't do my part. I just hope my part plus God's part can help me get okay results. I hope so much that I will not do badly. But I can't do anything now. It's all in God's Hands.

Exams are finally over and Christmas is coming. Yippee. So fun. We went for our first carolling gig at a posh, brand new hotel called simply g hotel. It was for the launch of the make a wish drive which they were having for the boys here at the Home. The boys have their wishes written on cards and hung on a big Christmas tree. Then the public can choose any boy's card and buy something for that boy. And the boy's wishes will be fulfilled by a generous donor. After singing, we had some refreshments.

Last Thursday, we and the boys went to watch enchanted. Gosh, it was good. It was funny and at times cheesy when they just start singing in the real world. But it was nevertheless good. Especially for girls like me, we wish we will have that 'live happily ever after' ending just like Princess Giselle. It makes me feel good. It left a cutesy and romantic feeling in me.

Last Friday, we went for Alicia's belated birthday dinner at Fish & co. They didn't get to celebrate in KL when I was in Singapore due to some circumstances. Which is great for me because I get to go out together with them and eat delicious food. Pictures taken by Angelynn. Seriously.

I then went out with my best friend, Stephanie after a very long time. We just talked and walked around. We only ate our lunch at Nando's at 3pm. Didn't get hungry before that. Must be the fish and chips I ate the night before. And I actually splurge my money shopping and eating. I spent about rm100 in one day which is quite a lot for me. I guess it was easier to spend the money this time because I just felt like it after the exams. I normally am very thrifty. No way I would spend my very own money like that.

alicia blogs..

nothing much to blog about...just blog a little....today service we had a special speaker from KL Bible Society, Joel Ng. As usual we had worship as normal, childrens message and the sermon...alex led the worship today with carmen playing the keyboard and me on the drums....actually it wasnt my turn today but the guy suppose to play came late so i took over....it kinda sound bad cos didnt practice....i mean the drums...my playing...but i still do it all for God...

after service caleb wash the cups and i tease him bcuz he usually doesnt do it...and it was funny and i had to take some pics...haha...

for lunch we went to new world park with the guest speaker Joel Ng with his family....and auntie Judy from s'pore....auntie Judy's here for the staff training this coming week.....starting tomorrow...

carmen blogs...

I just suddenly thought about this last night before sleeping. Funny isn't it. I guess it's because before that I read a friend's blog and I never thought that friend was capable of swearing that much. No names so that friend will have privacy.

Anyway, I'm definitely not a fan of swearing at all. We do say stupid, dumb or "gundu" when we scold each other. But we replace really offensive and vulgar words with polite words. Like for me instead of 's***', I say 'shoot'. I know 's***' is just waste from the body but I don't like saying it. Once in school my teacher heard one of my classmates curse and say it, then my teacher said it's in the toilet. LOL. Instead of 'hell', I will probably say 'heck'. Instead of d***, I say 'darn' (which must be polite and okay because I heard it said on a children's show). I say stinks instead of su***.

But the best has got to be Alicia's version. Instead of 'f word', she says flower. So when she is not at all happy with something she says "What the flower!". Hahaha... Funny la...

We went to Disney Live! Mickey's Magic Show... Thanks to a generous sponsor, all the boys here at the home had a fun time... We, Ngs also got to go... Angelynn of course enjoyed it the most... She wants to go and watch the show again... Here are some pictures we took...

So, we had Capts Ian and Isobel over the weekend... They shared with us during our Sunday service... Capt Isobel led a hymn... The particular song she led, 'By The Pathway Of Duty', she didn't like the song... I forgot why she didn't like the song already... hahaha... But she is so funny... Capt Ian shared the message on why we should use our gifts to glorify God based on the parable of the ten talents...

In the afternoon, they led a creative worship workshop... They reminded us on the concept of worship... That it's just not the half an hour of singing we do at the beginning of the service... But our lives is an act of worship... They taught us ways we can make our worship more creative... Reading out loud the Bible more expressively... Make some movements when we sing a song... Do a simple skit... And so much more things we can do to worship Him... Even more pics...

Well, that's all for now... I might not have the time to blog soon... Gotta study... My big exam is coming up... It is dubbed the biggest exam of anybody's life who takes this exam (STPM)... So hopefully alicia and caleb will blog... God bless...

yesterday nights match (arsenal vs manchester united)(emirates stadium)
i cant believe that last minute goal..........

nani shud have played..he could have created more chances and might even score a thunderous goal like before......wat a waste...united deserve to win after such spectacular 2nd half...i gotta admit the first half was like dull playing from united...the only part of the 1st was exciting was the last 5 minutes of that part....
i think carrick and nani shud have been substituted earlier...o shea wasnt that much of a difference.....ronaldo couldnt do any of his trick in that match but he still got an assist and a goal...

today service we got Captains Ian and Isobel Robinsons..they did the sermon for today...it was great..they said we should use our spiritual gifts to glorify God and not be selfish and keep it...Captain Ian wasnt to well cuz of his stomach upset....

after service we had the worship workshop....lunch was provided...the home staff cooked for lunch....Captains Ian and Isobel led the workshop.....they really has help us to expand our worship ideas.....

i think carmen will blog more about it....the workshop that is....

Carmen blogging...

I guess I can say that today wasn't as mundane as the other days. We had a seminar called ' Discover Your Spiritual Gifts'. Capts Ian and Isobel lead the seminar. Capt Isobel is so funny. She's the more outgoing one of the two of them. Well, we did the inventory and my top 3 spiritual gifts are music (vocal), music (instrumental) and joint third giving and teaching.I guess I wasn't surprise at the results 'cause I'm already involve. Like leading praise and worship, playing the keyboard for praise and worship ( i played last week... I'm so happy...), playing in the brass band, giving for the helping hand project and faith giving appeal, leading the youth group (which is called SAY Fired Up! our new name...so cool...) and helping in Sunday School.

I just want to thank God for blessing me with so many spiritual gifts and I want to thank Him for not taking one of my gifts away.

Here's the story on why I said this. I was going for piano lessons since I was 10. When I finished my o-levels or spm, the keyboardist in my corps kept on asking me to play for worship. I kept on giving excuses and focus on leading worship and singing backup. I knew that God could take away my gift if I didn't want to use it. He would give it to someone else who appreciated the gift and used it to glorify God. I only started practising recently 'cause my corps' keyboardist would not be able to available every Sunday. I played last week and I liked it a lot. Though it was kinda saddening that I needed that kind of push to use my gift to glorify God, I thank Him for the opportunity. I thank Him for giving me lots of time to develop my gift and not taking it away. Praise the Lord! Now I look forward to playing more often in my corps.

what to blog bout? yesterday went swimming at aunty meng's hotel.. it was cool that the pool was nice..we went to eat laksa first...aunty meng and uncle marcus enjoyed the laksa..

after that went to work at 4pm..nothing much...just did what was suppose to do ..finish at 12am but didnt know that it was pest control night..had to wrap everything up...i mean EVERYTHING..i was closing QA(quality assurance)where the drinks are there...plates, cutleries, cups, plastic and foam box for take away all are in the QA..we wrap everythin up and there was not enough plastic bags...then...THEN, manager say they had cancel the pest control appointment and change it to another date...it was already 1am...

got back home, then carmen starts asking me what should our blog title name be...i was to tired and hungry to think. so we came out with this...the life and times of ngs....hahaha...lol..couldn't think of a better one...cook myself maggi cup...put egg inside....it was yummy..then saw didi's blog...IM SO HAPPY THAT YOU'RE COMING....anything else? that's all for now..
